The Los Angeles Daily Breeze reports that 21-year-old Anthony Louis Fragoso recently pleaded guilty to charges of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence from a hospital bed, as he was seriously injured in the car crash that killed two others on the 91 Freeway in Anaheim.
]]> Bail was set at $150,000 in Fragoso’s case, but he will likely remain in his hospital bed at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana until he is able to recover. Fragoso has his next court date scheduled at the North Justice Center in Fullerton on February 22. We’ll see if he is actually able to make it to the courtroom the next time around.Tests done after the fatal crash last month showed that Fragoso had a blood-alcohol level of .20 percent, which is significantly above California’s legal limit of .08 percent. While driving his 1996 Mercedes-Benz on January 19, Fragoso drove in the wrong direction on the Riverside Freeway and crashed into another vehicle in a head-on collision. The driver of the other vehicle, Alan Reyes, and his passenger Vanessa Cease reportedly died at the scene of the crash.
In addition to dealing with vehicular manslaughter charges, prosecutors say that they plan to add the DUI allegations to the criminal complaint as well. Hence, it looks like Fragoso will be facing a long jail sentence if he is ever released from the hospital.
